Flat pattern interference DFM check
Flat pattern interference overview
Flat pattern interference occurs when the flattened shape of a part does not fit properly on the flat sheet material that it is cut from. This can result in issues during the manufacturing process, such as warping or bending of the material, or inaccuracy in the final product.
How MTK detects flat pattern interferences
MTK automatically analyzes B-Rep CAD models for flat pattern interferences. The SDK checks the relevant geometry against DFM criteria to identify potential issues that can increase manufacturing complexity or cost, or lead to quality or assembly problems.
Documentation and API reference
Detailed API reference for the flat pattern interference DFM check is provided in the MTK documentation, including issue classes, detection interfaces, and integration details.
