High rib DFM check
High rib overview
The high rib issue refers to a situation where the height of the rib is too high compared to the thickness of the rib. An appropriate height is required to facilitate removal of the part from the mold.
High rib detection conditions
MTK identifies this issue when the following condition is met:
where:
- — analyzed rib height
- — analyzed rib thickness
- — maximum rib height to thickness ratio
How MTK detects high ribs
MTK automatically analyzes B-Rep CAD models for high ribs. The SDK checks the relevant geometry against DFM criteria to identify potential issues that can increase manufacturing complexity or cost, or lead to quality or assembly problems.
Documentation and API reference
Detailed API reference for the high rib DFM check is provided in the MTK documentation, including issue classes, detection interfaces, and integration details.
