Irregular extruded hole height DFM check
Irregular extruded hole height overview
Irregular Depth Extruded Hole issue in sheet metal refers to a problem where the depth of an extruded hole is not consistent or uniform. This issue can bring about a weakened structure, compromised integrity, and difficulties in assembly.
Irregular extruded hole height detection conditions
MTK identifies this issue when either of the following conditions is met:
where:
- — analyzed hole extrude height
- — thickness of analyzed sheet
- — minimum hole extruded height to sheet thickness ratio
or
where:
- — analyzed hole extrude height
- — analyzed hole inner diameter
- — maximum hole extrude height to inner diameter ratio
How MTK detects irregular extruded hole heights
MTK automatically analyzes B-Rep CAD models for irregular extruded hole heights. The SDK checks the relevant geometry against DFM criteria to identify potential issues that can increase manufacturing complexity or cost, or lead to quality or assembly problems.
Documentation and API reference
Detailed API reference for the irregular extruded hole height DFM check is provided in the MTK documentation, including issue classes, detection interfaces, and integration details.
