Irregular screw boss core depth overview
The irregular core depth screw boss issues refer to situation when the height of the boss is not equal to core depth.
Shallow holes can leave thick sections in the wall, while deeper holes reduce the surrounding wall thickness. To prevent aesthetic defects caused by inconsistent wall thicknesses, the core depth must be equal to the boss height.
Irregular screw boss core depth detection conditions
MTK identifies this issue when the following condition is met:
where:
- — analyzed boss core hole depth
- — analyzed boss height
How MTK detects irregular screw boss core depths
MTK automatically analyzes B-Rep CAD models for irregular screw boss core depths. The SDK checks the relevant geometry against DFM criteria to identify potential issues that can increase manufacturing complexity or cost, or lead to quality or assembly problems.
