Large bead depth DFM check
Large bead depth overview
A large bead depth issue can occur when a bead is too deep. This can lead to several problems such as warping, distortion, and even cracking of the material. Additionally, a large bead depth can cause issues with the appearance of the final product.
Large bead depth detection conditions
MTK identifies this issue when the following condition is met:
where:
- — bead depth
- — actual sheet thickness
- — expected maximum bead depth to sheet thickness ratio
How MTK detects large bead depths
MTK automatically analyzes B-Rep CAD models for large bead depths. The SDK checks the relevant geometry against DFM criteria to identify potential issues that can increase manufacturing complexity or cost, or lead to quality or assembly problems.
Documentation and API reference
Detailed API reference for the large bead depth DFM check is provided in the MTK documentation, including issue classes, detection interfaces, and integration details.
