Large depth countersink DFM check
Large depth countersink overview
Large depth countersink issue occurs when the countersink is too deep for the sheet thickness, causing material displacement and a bulge on the opposite face.
This deformation can lead to poor surface quality, misalignment during assembly, and potential weakening of the sheet around the hole.
Large depth countersink detection conditions
MTK identifies this issue when the following condition is met:
where:
- — countersink depth
- — actual sheet thickness
- — expected maximum countersink depth to sheet thickness ratio
How MTK detects large depth countersinks
MTK automatically analyzes B-Rep CAD models for large depth countersinks. The SDK checks the relevant geometry against DFM criteria to identify potential issues that can increase manufacturing complexity or cost, or lead to quality or assembly problems.
Documentation and API reference
Detailed API reference for the large depth countersink DFM check is provided in the MTK documentation, including issue classes, detection interfaces, and integration details.
