A forming is an operation in which sheet metal is plastically deformed without removing material, using localized pressure and dedicated tooling to create three-dimensional features.

A forming has the following basic parameters:
- Axis.
- Length.
- Depth.
How MTK recognizes forming features
MTK automatically recognizes forming features in B-Rep CAD models and extracts their manufacturing-relevant parameters. The recognized feature data can be used for automated quoting, DFM analysis, and manufacturing workflows.
