Open hem bends

Open hem bend overview

An open hem bend is a bend in which the returning flange is folded over the sheet metal but there remains an air pocket between the two. The bend angle is 180 degrees.

How MTK recognizes open hem bends

MTK automatically recognizes open hem bends in B-Rep CAD models and extracts their manufacturing-relevant parameters. The recognized feature data can be used for automated quoting, DFM analysis, and manufacturing workflows.
