Threaded holes
Threaded hole overview
A threaded hole is a cylindrical hole with a helical thread (groove) machined on its inner surface.
The helical thread is designed to fit with the corresponding external threaded components, such as screws, bolts and studs, providing for secure fastening and reliable mechanical connections.
Threaded hole parameters
A threaded hole has the following basic parameters:
- Minor radius.
- Major radius.
- Length.
- Pitch.
- Depth.
How MTK recognizes threaded holes
MTK automatically recognizes threaded holes in B-Rep CAD models and extracts their manufacturing-relevant parameters. The recognized feature data can be used for automated quoting, DFM analysis, and manufacturing workflows.
Documentation and API reference
Detailed API reference for threaded hole feature recognition is provided in the MTK documentation, including feature classes and integration details.
