Turn diameter faces
Turn diameter face overview
A turn diameter face is a face produced by a turning operation. Turning is a material removal operation by the shear process which produces surfaces of rotation on the workpiece. The work element rotates about its center axis and the centerline of the machine spindle.
Common cutting tool modes include facing, straight turning, taper, grooving, cutoff, threading, and tracer turning. Used for conical or spherical faces that have width equal or larger than depth.
How MTK recognizes turn diameter faces
MTK automatically recognizes turn diameter faces in B-Rep CAD models and extracts their manufacturing-relevant parameters. The recognized feature data can be used for automated quoting, DFM analysis, and manufacturing workflows.
Documentation and API reference
Detailed API reference for turn diameter face feature recognition is provided in the MTK documentation, including feature classes and integration details.
